  40. Description of the Package:

  42. PageFocus is a Windows application for creating document,
  43. graphics, forms, and database.
  44.  
  45. The package contains two programs:
  46.         PFOCUS.EXE      This is named PageFocus.  Use this for creating and
  47.                         designing drawings, forms, documents, catalogs, etc.
  48.  
  49.         EX.EXE          This is the run-time program, used for entering data
  50.                         into forms/documents created by PFOCUS.EXE, or
  51.                         used as a viewer for viewing files created by PFOCUS.EXE.
  52.                         The entered data can be saved to create your own
  53.                         database.  With properly designed forms, data in
  54.                         the databases can be retreived into different forms.

  56.         To find a summary of the features of PageFocus, use EX.EXE to open
  57.         USEGUIDE.PF file.

  60. Release Notes and New Features
  61. ==========================================================================
  62. A.  Difference between the shareware version and a registered version:
  63.  
  64.    This version contains all the features of a registered version except
  65.    that spelling check is disabled and that import/export is limited to
  66.    bitmap, PCX and PageFocus files.
  67.  
  68.    If you print out forms in the shareware version, you will find an
  69.    "Unregistered PageFocus" placed at the bottom of the page as a reminder.
  70.  
  71.    Note:
  72.    Any forms, databases that you create with the shareware version can be used
  73.    in a registered version of PageFocus.  The "Unregistered .." marking will
  74.    be automatically removed by the registered version.

  76. B.  Evaluation period
  77.    The evaluation period is 30 days.  If you do not register after the
  78.    evaluation period, please remove all the files related to PageFocus
  79.    from your computer.

  82.    The help file provides all the information you need to run the program.
  83.    A PageFocus file, USEGUIDE.PF, contains useful information.
  84.    Another file, TIPS.PF, is useful for seeking frequently asked questions.
  85.    No printed documentation is provided.

  87. D. Minimum system requirements:
  88.         386 PC or up.  VGA, Must have a mouse.
  89.         (33Mz 486 and up + Super VGA and up preferred)
  90.         Windows 3.1 or up.
  91.  
  92.         Shareware version takes up approximately 2M Bytes of disk space.
  93.         Registered Version takes up 3.5 M Bytes of disk space.

  95. E. The button bars described in PageFocus help file is based on a super-VGA
  96.    screen mode.  If your monitor is running on VGA mode, the button bar will be
  97.    slightly different from those described in the help files.
  98.    However, this will not affect the use of PageFocus because all the
  99.    button commands are available from PageFocus menus.

  101. F. To see what's new in version 3.1, please use PageFocus or EX program to open
  102.    WHATNEW.PF file located in the installed directory.

  106. How to Register
  107. ==========================================================================
  108.    If you decide to keep the software, you must register with
  109.    Creative Stars, Inc..
  110.  
  111.    The registration fee is
  112.    $29.00 per copy plus $5 shipping/handling fee for US and Canada.
  113.    ( for other areas, the shipping/handling charge is $10 ).

  115.    Upon registration, we will ship you the registered version of PageFocus which
  116.    includes a spell checker for text editing, extended import/export of
  117.    most graphic file formats, and bitmap editing capabilities.
  118.    Since the help files of PageFocus contains all the information
  119.    you need to run the programs, no printed documentation is provided.

  122.    1.   Phone   206-485-1737 (Weekdays 8am to 5pm, Pacific Standard Time in US)
  123.         We will need your credit card information, phone number and address.

  125.    2.   Fax     206-487-0980 (Any time)
  126.         You can select the "Register" command in the Help menu of
  127.         PageFocus (PFOCUS.EXE) or EX ( EX.EXE ), this command will open
  128.         ORDER.PF automatically.  Enter the needed information, then fax
  129.         it to us (if you have fax function properly set up on PageFocus, you
  130.         can use the fax command from the File menu).

  132.    3.   Mail
  133.         Follow step 2 to fill out the ORDER form.  Mail the order form by
  134.         including a check, money order, or provide your credit card infomation.

  142. After unzipping your PFOCUS31.ZIP, install PageFocus by running the
  143. install program.

  145. If you have 2.x version of PageFocus, we suggest that you save your original
  146. version in a separate directory.

  148. !!!  Important...  Must read... !!!.
  149. Note:   If you have a previous "unregistered version" of PageFocus, you must
  150.         remove all the old files and directories before installing the
  151.         new shareware version.  Otherwise, you may not be able to use the
  152.         new version.

  168.                 Then, if you have properly set up fax on your computer, just
  169.                 fax it to as with the fax command in the File menu.

  172.                 You can also examine this file to learn about how to create
  173.                 forms using fields and tables.
